The College of Business Education recently held a two-day training program for Social Welfare Officers from all its campuses. The training, which took place from September 14th to 15th, 2023, was designed to equip these officers with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide counselling services to students.
During the training, internal facilitators introduced the officers to various counselling theories, processes, and skills. The officers were given the opportunity to practice counselling through demonstrations, ensuring that they were proficient in what they were taught.
In addition to counselling, the Social Welfare Officers also learned various skills related to career guidance. This training was aimed at helping them guide students in making informed decisions when choosing or preparing for a particular career. Career choice is an important decision, and proper guidance can help ensure that students select careers that they will enjoy and excel in.
