From Rectors Desk

Welcome to the College of Business Education (CBE) where we provide demand-driven and competence-based education, and to offer quality public services through applied research and consultancies. We provide valuable insights into education, cutting-edge research led by our esteemed academicians, and expert guidance spanning multiple domains, including Business Management, Human Resources, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Entrepreneurship, and more.

As we gear up for the upcoming academic term of 2023/24, set to commence in early October, I am delighted to share that several individuals have already secured their spots to join our College. For those who have successfully gained admission, I encourage you to continue finalizing your enrolments’ procedures. For those still contemplating, please note that we are actively receiving applications at various levels, from Certificate and Diploma, Bachelor Degree, Postgraduate and Master's programs.

The positive trends we have witnessed in terms of student admissions, human resource development, and infrastructural enhancements are truly encouraging and indicative of our College's growth. The recent transition in leadership at CBE, with my appointment as the Acting Rector by the honourable Dr. Ashatu K. Kijaji, the Minister for Industry and Trade, humbles me deeply. I would also like to extend my gratitude to Prof. Wineaster Anderson, Chairperson of the Governing Body, and all esteemed members of the Governing Body for their exceptional leadership and unwavering support.

This academic year, we anticipate a significant rise in the number of students across all programs, which resonates with the prevailing admission trend and underscores our standing as the preferred educational institution.
Additionally, the incorporation of apprenticeship and incubation programs has gained substantial momentum, both within the College and in collaboration with external stakeholders from the private and public sectors. To our incoming students, I encourage you to initiate the development of your entrepreneurial concepts, as they will undergo evaluation and potential support from the College. Selected projects will receive the necessary funding and comprehensive business education to jumpstart their ventures successfully.

Our strategic collaborations with international institutions have paved the way for enriching student exchange programmes, fostering a dynamic exchange of knowledge and expertise. This cross-cultural engagement not only hones the skills of our students and lecturers but also bolsters the global perspective of our academic community.
It is worth noting that CBE stands as the sole institution in Tanzania offering education in Metrology and Standardization, a testament to our commitment to excellence. I want to sincerely express my deep gratitude to the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) and the Weights and Measures Agency (WMA) for Metrology for their unwavering partnership. Their instrumental role in providing practical learning experiences for our students is truly invaluable. We are also thrilled about the forthcoming apprenticeship program, which will see students immersed in hands-on learning within your institutions. This collaborative effort is set to produce a cohort of highly skilled professionals poised for success.
I extend a warm invitation to all to join us at the forthcoming 4th Business and Economic Development Conference (BEDC), and Convocation and Graduation Events in November 2023. The 4th Business and Economic Development Conference (BEDC) 2023 is scheduled for November 21-22, 2023, at Treasury Square, Dodoma. This year's conference theme is "Business and Investment Environment for Economic Development," promising insightful discussions and valuable networking opportunities.
